Hatchery Choice Ducks is an assortment of all breeds of ducks that our hatchery hatches, including crested ducks, which have not been sold as specific breeds of ducks. Breeds may include Buff, Cayuga, Khaki Campbell, Black and White Magpie, Domesticated Gray Mallard, White Pekin, Rouen, Fawn and White Runner, and Blue Swedish ducklings. Of all types of poultry, ducks are the easiest to raise. They are efficient producers of meat, excellent foragers and resistant to cold or wet weather. Ducks are useful in controlling unwanted plants in ponds and serve as insect, snail and slug exterminators. Together with having many practical attributes, ducks are beautiful, fun to watch and make excellent pets. Fawn and White Runner Ducks have a unique, upright posture with the body carried at an angle of 45 to 75 degrees above horizontal. They have a long history of being herded and after many generations, evolved into ducks that could travel long distances at a quick pace. Crested Fawn and White Runners may possibly be included with your order.

Cayuga Ducks have spectacular greenish black plumage, which makes the adults one of the most beautiful of all poultry displays. They are the most popular exhibition breed in the Medium Weight Duck Class. They have long been recognized as one of the hardiest of all domesticated ducks and are active rustlers and foragers. Crested Cayugas may possibly be included in your order. Cayugas lay eggs that range from pale green/blue to black in color.

Black and White Magpie ducklings are very attractive with their black and white down, that is a blueprint of the adult plumage. They are kept primarily for their beauty and for exhibition, but are also useful as a dual-purpose breed for meat and eggs. Although rare, Crested Black and White Magpies could possibly be included in your order.

Blue Swedish Ducks are a medium sized duck that lay very well and have adequate meat. The front of the breast is pure white forming a distinctive heart shaped bib, which is about 4-5 inches wide at the base. The blue color is the result of the heterozygous combination of the blue (Bl) gene. When blue drakes are mated to blue hens, the result will be in a ratio of 1 black, 2 blue and 1 splash (white with a blue cast). Any blue variety ordered from Ideal Poultry may include black, blue or splash chicks. Crested Blue Swedish could possibly be included with your order.

Rouen Ducks, which belong to the Heavy Weight Duck Class, have beautiful, unique, attractive color patterns and are one of the most popular duck breeds for exhibition. Rouens are sometimes called "Big Mallards" or "non-flying Mallards" because both males and females have the same color patterns as Mallards. They make excellent pets because of their large size and docile nature. Crested Rouens may be included in your order.

Best suited for adult birds. Made of strong, heavy-duty plastic. Top-fill design is easy to use. Valve in base controls water flow close when filling, then open to allow water to fill the base. For best results, set waterer on flat ground before filling. Accommodates between 80-100 chickens, also good for ducks or other poultry. Holds up to 8 gallons of water.
