WHAT’S INCLUDED:
Each Package includes Cage, Temporary Feed, Queen and 3 pounds of bees (approximately 10,000 – 12,000).

ABOUT THE BEES:
Carniolans are known for their hardiness in the colder climates, rapid spring buildup and honey production. They show good resistance to tracheal mites and are great comb builders. Our Carniolan breeders are mated in an isolated area and observed for a year prior to use in our breeding program.

SHIPPING:
YOU MUST BE PRESENT TO ACCEPT SHIPMENT as it is not safe to leave bees unattended. Bees are ONLY shipped directly to you via UPS Overnight Express. Shipping charges are included in the price, so you pay no additional shipping at checkout. The tentative shipment/arrival will be in April or May and is dependent on the weather. You will be notified approximately two weeks prior to shipment and then again when bees are shipping.

DISCLAIMER:
Bees are non-refundable. Chicken Outfitter will NOT refund any package bees. Customer assumes full responsibility for package bees.

Package bees will need to be installed within 24 hours. Keep in a cool dark room prior to installing.

Please do not transport your bees in a secondary container (i.e. plastic container). Package Bees need air flow. Do not place your bees in direct sunlight or in direct wind.

There are approximately 10,000-12,000 bees per individual 3 lb. box. Harvest Lane Honey has supplied you with more than 3 lbs. of bees as there is expected shrinkage (death loss) of 1-2%. This shrinkage is common and to be expected. You will also receive a young Mated Queen. We offer no guarantee – implied, oral or written – for any of our Bees or Queens. If for some reason your Queen Bee arrives deceased, please contact Chicken Outfitter within 24 hours of receiving package. Proof of the deceased Queen Bee must be provided (picture) in order for a new Queen Bee to be shipped directly to you.

BEE FAQs

When are the bees shipping? Bees will ship during the month of April and the first week of May. Harvest Lane Honey will send the shipping schedule to The Chicken Outfitter 2 weeks prior to shipping your bees. The Chicken Outfitter will contact you and let you know the exact shipment date. The planned shipping schedule is to start with southern states first, and then work north.

How many bees are in a 3lb package? 10,000-12,000 bees and 1 mated queen

What is the best time of day to install my bees? Before dusk, as this forces the bees to stay in their hive.

How quickly should I install my bees? Recommended within 24 hours of receiving your package.
