‘Hatchery Choice’ simply means, the hatchery will choose your assortment! They will send you 10 chicks of assorted breeds, depending on what they have available. there will be at least 3 different breeds in the assortment. Only standard-sized egg-layer breeds will be sent, no bantams or broiler breeds. This option is sometimes called ‘Rainbow Layers’ because the breeds you receive could provide you with many different colored eggs. The breeds will not be marked when sent, so it’s like opening a surprise when they arrive! If you’re interested in having a diverse flock of egg laying hens, this is a great choice for you!

How long will it take for my chicks to ship?

New Hampshire Reds were developed in the early 1900s with Rhode Island Reds as the foundation stock. They were selected for early growth and maturity, meat production and production of large brown eggs. New Hampshire Red chicks are light red with lighter chests and wing tips. They have single combs and clean, yellow legs and feet. Adult plumage is primarily chestnut red with a black tail. Males will appear to be slightly darker because the male sickle, hackle, back, covert and wing bow plumage is a deeper chestnut color.
